A guest membership lasts a unlimited amount of time, and can be upgraded to a premium membership at any point, but is not an obligation.
Registering for a guest membership is free, and firstly requires your email address, location, and desired username and password. You will then be redirected to the main registration page which consists of three separate stages in order to set your personal advertisement up for approval.
The first stage requests personal information such as where you live, the type of relationship you are looking for, physical attributes and lifestyle background such as your occupation, if you have any children and even whether you own pets!
The second stage is for personal details including some fun questions you can really personalize, such as the celebrity you most resemble, and fun things you can do around your location, which you will have selected in the first stage. These are not compulsory; however add a personal and unique touch to your profile, for members to view.
The final stage allows you to upload personal photographs to your profile – again, this is not a necessity, however will attract more attention to your personal advertisement. You may do this at any point however, and is not required when first joining the website.
Once you are happy with your profile and it is complete you can sign up to and join a number of groups or email newsletters. Once you have signed up to the ones you are interested in, you will be automatically logged in to the website and can browse the content. You can add vast amounts of detail to your profile, as well as uploading, updating and editing the information at any point during your membership.
There are a number of searches you can perform, or browsing methods, in order to peruse the huge numbers of members who are registered with the site. Some of the quick searches include members’ currently online, new members, those with birthdays and members who have viewed you, to name but a few.
You may also perform a basic or advanced search, which allows you to specify search criteria based on your preferences for an ideal match. Basic search is based on an age range, location and zip code proximity for an ideal match. Advanced search allows you to filter potential matches by much more specific details such as height, weight, physical appearance and even income, amongst a vast amount of other criteria.
You are recommended to save each search also so you will not be required to enter the same information every time you wish to perform a search.
Once your search query has loaded feature members appear on the top of the screen, even if they don’t match exactly the criteria specified.
The other members can be arranged by three different views, and are displayed down the page with basic profile details including the default profile photo, age, location and distance from you, body type and the type of relationship they are seeking.
If you wish to view the members entire profile you may click on the username and view a huge number of details pertaining to the type of person the member is, and the type of match and relationship they are seeking.
With a guest membership you may add the member to your list of favorites, to make it easier to view and access that profile, and you may also ‘show interest’ which sends an alert to the member to let them know you have been viewing their profile and would like to make contact.
Premium gold membership entitles you to chat and instant messaging with other members, and you may also send messages. Most content is permitted, with the exception of personal contact details which are not allowed to be exchanged via the website.
The website has a chat feature, exclusively for premium members, and also its own e-zine which has articles offering help, support and advice for people within the online dating scene.
